Go Costume Shopping
My kids LOVE going costume shopping and getting ideas for what they want to dress up as. If you have multiple kids and have saved costumes, be budget conscious and save some money by costume shopping in your own dress up collection at home! You do not have to costume shop at the store! Swap costumes with friends or neighbors can be a great way to save money on costumes for Halloween as well. We love to get our costumes at the beginning of the month so that they get worn a ton before Halloween night for trick or treating. Your family can also do a Halloween costume dinner to and eat dinner with your costume. Take up a notch of Halloween excitement for older children and have them act as their costume in terms of accent and characteristics through the dinner.

Decorate Your Porch -
Get in the Halloween spirit by decorating your front porch or doorstep with pumpkins, hay, or spooky decorations. Make your front door a neighborhood statement by adding eye catching Halloween themed decorations or spooky decor! Don't overcomplicate it, Halloween decor doesn't have to be complicated! Pumpkins from your local pumpkin patch is one of the easiest ways to decorate your porch!

Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkin patches are without a doubt my favorite part of the month of October. There is no such thing as too many pumpkins, so we visit our favorites throughout the month with friends and collect pumpkins of all shapes and sizes to display on our front porch! We wait until a few days before Halloween to carve them, so they look good on Halloween night for trick or treating! The ones we do not carve, we donate to a local farm who feeds them to their goats and pigs!

Make a Pumpkin Treat
Enjoy a pumpkin themed Halloween yummy treat with your friends or family as you watch a Halloween movie or talk around a fire pit! Halloween treats like pumpkin donuts are always family favorites here. We love to roast pumpkin seeds after we carve the pumpkins too! Mummy pizza is another favorite and is so easy to make!

Themed Drinks Delicious Halloween and fall inspired drinks like pumpkin spiced hot chocolate or apple cider are always a good idea to sit outside on a cool fall night! Or make some adult only beverages with some Halloween features like candy corn cocktails!
