My family has visited the Legoland Florida amusement park and Legoland hotel and resort twice and had a great time from the moment we arrived until the moment we drove away. Legoland also has a Legoland California Resort, Legoland New York and Florida in the United States and other locations around the world!

Taking Children Ages 0-3 to Legoland Resort and Theme Park:

  • Sensory Exploration: Focus on areas like Duplo Playtown and Duplo Village, where oversized Lego bricks and gentle rides cater to their sensory development.

  • Comfort is Key: Bring a stroller for tired legs and ensure you have essentials like snacks, extra clothing, and a quiet space for potential naps. The Legoland amusement park is located right beside the resort.  The park is so easy to navigate so going back to the room for a nap with a younger one and heading back to the park requires NO car and minimal walking. The entire park is steps away from your hotel room.

  • Play Areas:  The play areas encourage building with larger bricks, and relish in the moments of discovery and exploration.  These play areas are located around the Legoland Hotel and Resort and Amusement park are perfect for little kids with play and climbing structures with soft turf ground for little siblings to play while big kids ride the more advanced rides.

  • Baby Care Center - Located at Duplo Valley. The Baby Care Center provides a nursing and changing area, bottle warming and more! Located inside the DUPLO® Farm.

  • Peppa Pig Theme Park: Welcome to the world's first Peppa Pig theme Park in Central Florida.  Be fully immersed into Peppa's world in this new theme park that your family will love. The bright colors, songs, and sounds that await you in the themed play areas at Peppa Pig Theme Park will have your family ready to splash in muddy puddles with your favorite characters from the well-loved Peppa Pig live action show.  Join unexpected adventure with this new park in Central Florida with interactive rides, water themed play, delicious dining, live shows, play area, and family friendly thrill ride options like a hot air balloon and more!  This is part of the Legoland Florida location and within steps of the Legoland Park Entrance and Hotel parking lot.

Navigating the Legoland Park with Kids 0-3 years old:

  • Baby Care Centers: Locate and use the park's designated baby care centers for diaper changes, feeding, and quiet spaces for rest.

  • Quiet Areas for Naps: Identify quieter spots within the park where your child can take a nap if needed.

  • Height Restrictions: Be aware of height restrictions on rides; some attractions may not be suitable for infants or very young children. But the Duplo Valley area has plenty of rides for even tiny riders!

  • Ride Swap Option: If you're with another adult, utilize ride swap options to take turns riding attractions without waiting in line twice.

With a bit of planning and these tips in mind, your trip to Legoland with a toddler or baby can be a delightful adventure filled with cherished memories for the whole family.

Some of these workshops require a sign up time slot, so you will want to use the app or sign up with the help of a staff member in the park at no extra cost!

  • Mild Thrills: Explore roller coasters and 4D experiences that offer thrills without being too intense for this age group. My kids in this age group loved the Dragon Coaster and since we visited during a non peak time there was no long wait and the kids could ride over and over without having to wait in line.  This was the best part.  At the end of the day we had ridden every roller coaster in the Legoland Theme park multiple times.

  • Interactive Learning: Engage in behind-the-scenes tours or workshops that delve deeper into Lego manufacturing or engineering.

  • Scavenger Hunts: Participate in park-wide scavenger hunts or interactive challenges that can add an extra layer of excitement to their visit.

  • Mindstorms Robotics: If available, explore areas like Mindstorms where they can engage in robotics and programming activities, fostering their interest in STEM.

By considering their interests, encouraging independence, and engaging in interactive challenges, your trip to Legoland with an 8–10-year-old is likely to be a blend of adventure, learning, and cherished moments.

Ages 10 and Up Visiting Legoland Theme Park:

  • Detail Appreciation: Challenge older kids to notice the intricacies of Lego designs and understand the engineering behind some of the park's impressive creations.

  • Hands-on Challenges: Participate in more advanced building challenges or seek out more technically-focused attractions, like the Mindstorms robotics area.

  • Independent Exploration: Offer them some freedom to explore areas of interest within the park, encouraging autonomy while ensuring a meeting point for check-ins.

I would definitely visit before your child reaches middle school as the Legoland theme park is geared towards 13 and under.

Legoland Water Park

Legoland Florida Resort, Theme Park and Water Park are all attached on the same property. The Legoland water park is at the very back of the Legoland Theme park located near Flying School and Ford Driving School.  Each guest will need to purchase a separate Legoland water park ticket.  I would highly recommend booking this at the time you buy legoland tickets.  If you purchase the water park admission at the time you book your Legoland Florida resort stay, you will save money.  The Legoland Water Park is designed to cater to a wide range of ages, but certain age groups might find it particularly enjoyable:

  • Splash and Play: Toddlers and young children, typically aged 2 to 6, can revel in the gentle water features, splash pads, and shallow pools.

  • Duplo-themed Attractions: Areas inspired by Duplo characters and themes offer interactive play and water-based fun perfect for younger kids.

  • Water Slides and Adventure: Older children in this range often appreciate the variety of water slides, raft rides, and interactive attractions.

  • More Adventurous Features: They can enjoy slightly more thrilling slides and experiences that offer excitement without being too intense.

  • Varied Experiences: While Legoland Water Park might not be the top choice for teens seeking extreme water slides, some older kids and teenagers might still find enjoyment in the park's varied attractions with little siblings.

  • Relaxation and Family Time: Teens might appreciate the park's relaxed atmosphere and family-oriented experiences.

Practical Tips to Enjoy Legoland Theme Park with Children:

  • Arrive Early: Beat the crowds by arriving early to make the most of the day before it gets too busy. Travel during non peak times of the year

  • Take Breaks: Plan regular breaks for rest and relaxation, especially for both you and your child.

  • Patience and Flexibility: Be patient and flexible, as traveling through a theme park can be unpredictable. Embrace the spontaneity and enjoy the moments.

  • Capture Moments: Take photos or videos of your child enjoying the park; these memories will be cherished for years to come.

  • Souvenir Selection: Consider letting your child pick out a souvenir as a memento of their Legoland experience.

  • Create Stories: Encourage imaginative play by asking them about their favorite parts of the day or creating stories around the Lego creations they see.
